Take heed! The final few are upon us! Over the last 15 years, RHOG has released musical excursions leading to this destination. The end of the experience is near, and while we can never go home again, we emerge entertained. This recording marks the fifth of seven in a series signaling the end of the RHOG project. The 5th composition of this musical night includes predawn mastery of illegal art and beats from the heart of all hope. Four songs blended into one signal broadcasting from a dream, representing the return to wholeness and the dissolution of boundaries. Throughout the record the listener is soaked in familiar textures of analog sample-based breakbeats and plunderphonic composition. Field recordings, counter-cultural creativity, unanswered phone calls, and sacred arpeggiation all contribute to the listener’s digital dismay or delight. Destroy all illusions, liberate yourself from your past. Go to sleep from history. Wake up to this dream... as is the tradition with this split series, the flip-side is balanced with a sonic contribution from another unique artist. This time Denver-based producer, Chris Kennedy takes us on a musical journey leaving us eager to delve into more of his work.
